I'm off to the Hilton Shark Bay later this month. Has anybody been there? What's the beach like & would you recommend one dive shop over another there?
It'll be my first time to the Red Sea.

Hey Everest,

Well, I am guessing that you are probably in Sharm right now, so I have kind of missed the chance to tell you that you are heading to the right place!

I hope you've had a fantastic time. Whilst I have not stayed at the Hilton, even the most basic of hotels in the Sharm district are not too bad at all, so you won't have anything to worry about in the Hilton.

To be honest, and I am sure you will have realised that it is not worth buying any kit over there, as you will be paying extra for them to be imported in the first place. You will find the better bargains and latest kit will be in the UK more often than not.

I hope you had a fantastic time and had the opportunity to dive Ras Mohammed, Tiran and the Thistlegorm to name just three of the best sites. We were over there at the beginning of the month and had some really stunning dives, the currents round Tiran were flying, so we had a couple of blinding drift dives.

Anyway, hope it was fun.

Ps I like your signature quote

i agree with divebunnie, sharks bay is great and access to some amazing dive sites - have a looks at our ...dive center for some pics...

I have been to two safaris with Shark Bay diving club (Umbarak).

Great place, great people and really great dives. You should take at least one daily boat to Tiran. Try to look for Sharky or Hassan as your dive guides.

Ras Muchammad and the Thistlegorm are very nice but my favorite is the Tiran area. Ras Nasrani, a short boat or car ride from Shark Bay, has a beautiful coral garden, second to none.

Take a look at my post here:
