I am a sixteen year old girl and have been diving for 4 years. But because I am a 16 year old girl, and that makes me a wuss, i don't like diving in the cold, and I am just now in the process of learning to dive in a dry suit (in a pond, haha). BUT, i live in Michigan, near grand rapids.

Frankly, I am tired of going on long trips to Florida once a year to dive. And i have exhausted 'fun" little dive sites like lake 16 and a few quarries. I am looking for some places to dive in Michigan that i could do in a Wet suit, OR ones that are not too deep and I can dive in a barrowed dry suit, I don't want to go too deep because I am new with the dry suit, and deep=danger, haha.

So, does anyone know of some good shallow dive sites in Michigan?

If you are looking for shallower wreck dives, check out the Manitou Passage Preserve. (Up near Charlevoix and Traverse City.) There are also shore dives in that area.

Here in Alpena we have numerous shallow wrecks ranging from 8' to 60', even a sinkhole at 65' deep, check out the tbscuba link in my signature, Joe has done a grerat job at listing most of the known wrecks, and features around here.
