They also like to do night dives at Hol Chan. Very shallow and the non divers could accompany with snorkels. The blue hole is deep unless you stay shallow :) and there is a ton of stuff in the shallow area around the walls. Just tell the DM that you are not going down to the formations and sttay in the top 40 feet. Very cool! Most dives off ambergis caye could be done by staying on top of the spur and groove formations. Just hang around under the boat and wave bye to the divemaster on the deeper dives.

Thatch Caye offers some great shallow dives and their wall starts to drop off right at thirty five to forty feet which is perfect for a junior diver to stay right above the wall edge. They have two instructors and two dive masters on staff and always make personal service their priority. They do inland tours as well and are only a twenty five minute boat ride to the mainland. Other resorts in the area are Tobacco Caye Lodge, Blue Marlin, and Coco Plum all of which dive the same wall, which has now been included in the South Water Caye Marine Park no fishing, conservation zone, protected area.
