Most of the dive sites in the Keys, with the exception of the wrecks such as the S Grove, Duane, etc. are in around 30' to 35' to the sand bottom. Molasses and French reefs in Key Largo are fun, colorful shallow dives as is Looe Key in the lower Keys, but anywhere from Key Largo down to Key West is going to be primarily shallow reef systems and fun easy diving.

Bonaire does have alot to offer in shallow shore diving, although most of the sites I have dove are on sloping reef systems that get pretty deep and you can go deeper than you thought fairly quickly in the gin clear water. While I love the casual atmosphere of the Divi Casino and Karel's, I must say that nightlife in Key West is a couple of notches up the party meter.
