Fine Jason - it's too bad you can't see the contradictions you're making with the statements after your quote!

No contradictions. I did not once say that this did not happen. I just am simply saying we should hear both sides of a story before we decide to hang someone. In fact this thread has been removed from the original thread and no longer should be talking about a particular event because H2Andy has seperated it from that thread. So as H2Andy said in a post on the other thread lets stay on topic or they'll have to break it into two threads again.

mrobinson:
ok pilotfish- off the topic of this thread..
Anyone in power over another person can be inappropriate in any situation. The case you're describing... imagine if I took you down, unzipped you're wetsuit, penatrated you with my hands since you're are trying to control this bd/breathing/etc. It so easy to do.

If that were the case, this man would, and should, have more done to him than being expelled from PADI

Thanks pilotfish for trying to understand... it can be hard to see at times, and I appreciate your sincerity here.

Jason- I agree you didn't say it didn't happen. What you've done is completely demostrated you cannot just be understanding to one person first and foremost.

Ok here's how I see it.

pilot fish/kennedydive - you commented that a guy who did what mrrobinson stated should have more done to him than be expelled from PADI. And yet you've appeared (really hard to tell from post tone) to believe that there may be an element of misunderstanding or error in the victim's recollection. This is exactly why it is always difficult to go further with these issues. People tend to believe that the event is a fabrication/blown out of proportion. I agree that expulsion from PADI is not enough, and hopefully justice will come.

H2Andy - I understand that you are trying to save the victim from unnecessary flaming in relation to what happened. Posting the assault was surely difficult for her, and I agree with what you are doing!

This thread has moved beyond the original post and is now dealing with sexual assault in general. Therefore I can see the relevance of all points stated. Perhaps it would be easier to state clearly whether you are refering to the original assault or hypothetical situations.

You know I love you guys and hate it when you fight! :07: :10:

Which is all I was doing and got tos'd. I thought that was the aim of the thread?

pilot fish:
Folks, I just received a TOS voilation PM from R. Davie so it seems I cannot discuss this topic either. My apologies board, I thought this was a discussion on sexual assault, vis a vis diving? I think it was unfair to TOS me since I thought the discussion of this thread was to be on sexual assault?

I will make this one comment. The discussion of the incident in terms of: "I do not see how this could physically happen..." is reminiscent of the old: "A man can't rape a woman unless she is willing..." line of foolishness.

Any discussion along those lines is out of bounds. Period. I hope I make myself perfectly clear.
