Settings for Nikonos-V Macro & Close up sets

let me ask again since my question wasn't obvious inside the paragraph.

when using the closeup kit or extension tubes, can i just use A mode, iso 100 (for iso 100 print film), sb105 to TTL, and practically point-n-shoot?

set camera on "A"-when a strobe is connected and turned on the camera sets shutter to 1/90...use 100 iso film so set for 100 iso..modern print film ok and gives alot of latitude on exposures..strobe on ttl...focal distance on closest distance..all for macro tubes..hold stobe about 8'' from subject..make sure subject is within framer..depth of field is very limited..

for closeup kit f 16 ..set focal distance on infinity..

ok thanks. that will probably save me many rolls of film since my next trip, to jamaica, will have a 2 day turn-around for developing. thats at least 4 dives x 2 cameras = 8 rolls!

actually. i'll have the 15mm while my wife will use either tubes or closeup kit.

for the 15 and wide-angle closeups, i'll set to A, strobe to TTL, and focus according to distance, and aperture as wide as possible for most balanced shot and depth of field needed. hopefully the strobe wont overexpose (will try to fill frame as much as possible. i guess the guide number is needed for more balanced shot by setting 1/60 shutter, and strobe via guide number. let me know if i'm off here..

you are using ttl..do not worry about guide number..ttl is designed so that you do not overexpose..that said this is what to do with 15mm lens, take a reading off light meter in camera on ambient light level,usually around f 5.6 in carib waters -for shots 3' or more away from subject,gives you a nice blue background f 8 makes it a little darker,(I like to bracket at f 8 when 2' from subject and f 11 when 1 1/2' from subject)when not too deep,using iso 100 film, set camera to "A" set focal distance at 2 1/2' -3'..even closer if you like, the niknos 15mm lens would show you depth of field on the lens itself..that should cover most of your shots,the 15mm lens has a really great range on its depth of field that images out of focus should not be a problem..some of the images on "my gallery" had been done with a 15mm lens/nik 5 system..
