Hmmm... Opposite of NativeNarcosis, I would stick to the Atomics... :) Between those two BC brands I'd go with the Zeagle..

Thanks... Do you know if the B2 s better than the M1?

If you are not diving in very cold water or planning on using nitrox with 40% or higher oxygen percentage, you can easily use the Atomic B2 rather than the M1. You may consider ordering it with an M1 exhaust however, since it is wider.

Thanks, One of the things. I like about the M1. Is the wider exhaust.

I've got the Aqua Lung Legend and I love it. Shallow or deep it delivers the air, I never feel that I'm working to breathe even at 100 ft. And now I believe they have a hundred off the 1st stage and 2nd stage when you buy them together. Got mine over a year ago and it was around $500 I'm not sure of the exact amount, if you really want to know PM me and I'll look through the receipts and let you know the exact price.

Personally, I chose my equipment for slightly different reasons, and you should too. I didn't like Zeagle, cuz it sounds like "beagle", and that's a dog. 'Nuff said.

I chose a Cobra computer cuz it looked kinda like a cobra. Tuff. Chicks love it cuz it gives me that "bad boy" thing.

I forget which BC I have, but the girl at the LDS was kinda cute, and I wanted to impress her, so I acted like I knew what I was doing and picked the first one I found. Confidence. They love it.

And the regulator? Got the Mares Abyss cuz it has a lot of chrome. Shiny. Very cool. And the octopus was fluorescent yellow. Kinda psychedelic.

Okay, get serious...

I wanted a reg that didn't give me cotton mouth, and the Mares Abyss is wonderful. One of the rental regs I got was horrendous, and my mouth was dry for a week.

The Cobra was recommended by a few of my instructors as the best around, and so far I like it.

You might want to check the equipment reviews at http://www.scubadiving.com/. Seems like they do some fairly comprehensive testing on all kinds of equipment.

Me too. But this is what I have; a Zeagle Ranger and an Atomic M1. Both very good.

My wife has a Zeagle Ranger (actually a Brigade. See the Scubatoys website for an explanation) and an Atomic B2. She loves them as well.

However you can't go wrong with any of the gear you are considering.

Hi, I have been diving for several months now. I'm trying to buy my scuba gear but most of the Dive shops swear there's is the best. Only trying to sell me something. So, I'm hoping I will find some advice from Divers who have greater experience in this..

Doest anyone know which is a better Reg.. The Atonic M1, Atomic B2. The aqua Lung Legend, or the Scuba Pro 650.

BC: The seaquest or the Zeagle?

Dive computer: The Pro Act or the UWATC Smart Computer?

Don't pick gear, any of it, by brand or price. Pick it for comfort and ease of operation.

Every person out there is different so no one piece of gear will fit or operate the same for everyone.

Dive lots of brands and styles before you comit to an item. Spend some $$ renting if you need to or test out gear at or with a LDS. Not just your LDS but go to other areas as well. Spending $$ doing that will save you $$ in the long run.

Some gear is so complicated a diver can get confused which can lead to a safety problem.

Some can grab any gear, never see what it is and figure out how to dive with it in just a few seconds and dive with comfort without a problem. Others have to be guided through every little detail of the gears operation prior to even putting it on and then spend several hours being trained in using it.

I'm sure you are somewhere in between those two extreams. So don't settle on the brand or cost but focus on your ability and comfort level. Search the gray matter before opening the checkbook.

All are great regs, however the M1 is built for very cold water (designed to resist freeflow). If you plan on diving in very cold water, I'd go with it.

I have a Smart-Com and like it, however I've never tried the other. It seems to be fairly conservative, which makes my wife happy. 8-)

I have the M1. This M1 is more expensive than the B2, and is a higher-end reg. The M1 is environmentally sealed, and is a better cold-water reg. My M1 breathes very well for me, whether I'm upside down vertical, lying on my back or whatever position I'm in. I've used it in 41 degree water and it performs just as well as in 80 degrees. I'm sure the B2 is a great reg as well, and it was $200 cheaper at my LDS. Check out Atomics web page for more details on the M1 and B2.

Actually it is a 2 year recommended service interval. The lifetime warranty is actually in effect regardless of whether it is serviced or not.
