I have an OMS BP with a standard harness (with the quick release). OMS says in their set up instructions "The Standard harness is a cross the shoulder harness which means that each side of the upper harness crosses at the top (behind the divers head) then joins the lower attachment on the opposite side."

I find that the crossing over of the upper straps feels like the straps are going to cut off my head or cut the neck seal on my drysuit. Has anyone tried it not crossing the upper straps behind your head? It doesn't seem that there would be any problem with the straps going straight but I thought I'd ask in case there is something I haven't thought of.

Either way will work just fine. Bigger guys tend to prefer uncrossed for the reasons you mentioned.
