servicing a J valve

They're serviceable but if you just want something that works go into a dive shop and ask them for their cheapest valve. My local ones both have old ones from Aluminium tanks that have failed hydro/eddy and I've gotten a free one from each of them out of the spares bucket.
 
Thanks guys I got it serviced at Divers Den in Southern GA; I live in N. FL and was happy to find this place near the house. They have a bunch of new old stock service kits for the J-Valves. I'm wondering if its cause they're near the sub base there at Kingsbay, lots of mil diving there through the years...



BTW Allan it was a US Divers J-Valve...

Actually service kits are still available from Aqua Lung as the J valves are still being used by the military and commercial divers.
