Hi everyone,

I am looking to dive the Kittiwake while in Cayman in February. I'll only be in Cayman for a day as part of a cruise. I'm looking to do 2 dives on the wreck, and I need a dive operator that will do this and one that is reputable. I have the list of dive shops, but I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with the following shops:

Cayman Turtle Divers
Ambassador Divers
In Depth Watersports
Indigo Divers
Seasports

According to the Kittiwake's website, these operators will do a 2 tank dive in the am.

I'd prefer Eden Rock or Divers Down, but Divers Down doesn't do 2 tank dives there in the am, and Eden Rock is by request, and they require 4 divers to do the trip. I am currently diver #1, and they have nothing booked for that day.

So can anyone say anything good or bad about the above shops? I'd like to book something soon down there.

Thanks

Joe

You may also want to consider DiveTech. We did several shore dives there and they do a lot of dives on the Kittiwake. They are a very good group. I haven't been out with any of the dive shops you named. We dove Kittiwake with Diver's Down which is walking distance from downtown.

Joe, my uncle and I will be there Feb. 22--is that the day you'll be there? We're looking for dive buddies.

I just did a Carnival cruise on the Legend and dove Grand Cayman with Living the Dream. I highly recommend them. They also dive the Kittiwake.

The wreck was closed when I was there as they were trying to adjust the wreck on the bottom - she went down with a slight list and they want to bring her all the way upright.

The Kittiwake wasn't so much on my desired dive list as enjoying the magnificant reef and wild life - try going thru an 6 foot wide 20 foot deep trough and swim thru (bottom at 70') filled with dozens of 3 and 4 foot tarpon! Living the Dream was fabulous!! They picked me up across the street from the tender dock and brought me back. Gary & Liz made it very convenient for me. They arranged it for me to get in three long boat dives. Had a problem with my Octo leaking on the first dive and they swapped octos out for me on the boat between dives so I could still dive my own Primary. Not a big deal for most - but there just wasn't any fuss about it. There were 5 divers on the boat in the morning and only 2 of us in the afternoon.

I could go on and on - Great Service! - Lots of fun! - and I WILL be back Gary & Liz! And I won't be alone!
