As nwgratefuldiver/Bob has retired from teaching, I'm looking for a recommended sidemount instructor. I don't care what agency. I'm not looking for a card, just knowledge and skills.

Moderator, if this is in the wrong place, please move.

Thanks,
Kosta

Contact Brian Weiderspan at frogkickdiving, Brian doesn't teach SM, but he knows who to go to.

Brian and I are already connected. Brian sets high standards for himself before teaching anything, something I very much respect about him. But as he informed me yesterday, he's just not there yet with sidemount. Unfortunately, he doesn't know anyone either. I'll probably have to get a so-so training course, then go diving with Bob to get pointers. Maybe I can act as a spotter for him for photography subjects on his dives in exchange. :)

I may be back in Victoria permanently, this spring/summer.....if so, I can let you know more about me, my background and my courses. If your interested in coming up to the island.

Look up Tacoma Scuba. They can probably hook you up. Wont be so so either.
Thanks. If I remember, Josh is the owner (wound up on Oceanquest with TS a ways back)

I hate to weigh in since I know both Jay (decompression) and Josh (Tacoma Scuba) who are both great instructors. But Jay wins for the fact he trains and dives on Vancouver Island which is way better than anything I've dived in Seattle area.

I don't believe Josh teaches sidemount ... at least I have never heard him mention it, nor seen any gear in the store to suggest it. But it doesn't hurt to ask. I do know he won't teach any class unless he can teach it well ...
