Just got a HOG BP/W setup. Looks like the only things keeping the BP and W together are the tank straps, which leaves things somewhat mobile. Should the BP/W be bolted together through holes in both the BP and W? If so, should any special type of hardware be used? Thanks.
 
Round head bolts, locking washers and wing nuts through the two holes on the wing and appropriate holes on the back plate.

Nope. Once you snug down the tank straps, nothing is going anywhere.
 
Like John said. You can use a nylon sex bolt as a locator aid. It will not be load bearing but when changing tanks it does kinda help to keep the wing at the right height. Not absolutely necessary though.

Also reduces the number of hands it takes to change tanks from THREE down to TWO.

I use a heavy single tank adapter when diving singles. Takes several lbs of lead off the belt too.

If you decide to use sex bolts or an STA be sure to unbolt and remove the wing when not diving. I've seen my share of pinched bladders around these parts from that.
