Hello all,
I'm going on a business trip and staying at the Secrets capri resort on the mainland in Feb. I have been to Cozumel but never to the mainland. Has anybody stayed at this resort? If so could you recommend dive ops and or other advice?
Thank you very much,
Gianni

I'm headed there the 16th of Feb with my wife (shore bound), Brother-In-Law (fellow bubble-blower) and his wife (shore bound). I've only heard good things about the resort on www.tripadvisor.com, so I am looking forward to it. When are you going to be there? I'll be finishing my OW referrals and then diving, so if your there, let's try to hook up.

The poor side of New Albany myself :eyebrow:

I've heard great things about about both Dive Puerto Morelos and Diablo Divers. I've been in touch with Cat Brown over at Puerto and was planning on finishing my referrals with them then trying to get in a couple more dives. That'll about exhaust my dive time since my wife will want to see me some of my vacation.

I was originally planing on doing my referrals the 18 & 19, but maybe I'll speed that up so we can get a dive in before you leave. If not, there's always booze at the bar and stories to discuss.

PM me with details of your trip. If there are any more divers with your group, maybe we can get a private run. Just curios, what company are you with and how many coming? Just curious how loud its gonna' get :)

I went to Secrets Capri on my honeymoon in late September. I cannot say enough good stuff about the place. It was opulent and generally fabulous.
It is not for people who prefer to rough it though. My complaints might be music to others' ears. They do not allow you into the restaurants with bare feet. They have "Casino night" and invite vendors to the pool area one or two nights a week. If you walk through and look at their wares, they hassle you.
Otherwise, the pool is beautiful, the beach is even better, and the food is top notch. It's a vacation where you want for nothing. The open bars are well-stocked, and you don't have to carry any money. You can drink as many mojitos as you want! :D And they are a true work of art, I must say. There are several restaurants to choose from, all of them good. There's Japanese, Mediterranean, Mexican (duh), and a few others I can't remember. There are okay wine lists and extremely good menus. The good wine lists cost extra. But you get dressed, go out to dinner, and bring no money with you since it's all-inclusive. It takes some getting used to. It's most excellent. We spent most of our time on the beach, in the water in their free kayaks and windsurfers, and using their free snorkeling equipment. We rented a Jeep right there at the hotel and drove to PDC and Tulum and had a great day of it.
The rooms are opulent and beautiful, and the employees are very helpful. We were greeted with a tropical fruit basket and huge bouquet of flowers, and a bottle of champagne. PLUS FREE spa treatments. 1 hour Swedish massages, sea salt scrub and facial treatment. Just because we were on our honeymoon.
I loved this place, and would recommend it to anyone.

I am the only diver in our group. I am a home builder in columbus and my electrician is taking my wife and I for doing business with them. From what I hear, there will be about 20 electricians on the trip, mostly golfers, so I will probably split the trip in half with golfing and diving. Can't beat that. My email is gianster@aol.com if you want to do a dive or two.
