FWIW - Bob should start his own club, since he knows every diver in about a 4 state and province area. I think he should be the Seattle Scuba Mayor. In otherwords con Bob into diving with you at Cove 2 on a nice sunny weekend and you'll get meet more divers than you can remember names.
Almost as good as that - come on out for the Scubaboard Dive In Jan. 22nd at Cove 2 and get to meet other SB'ers. Uncle Pug, Bob, myself and a bunch of others will there.

So you live in seattle but it shows that you reside in Sacremento on scuba board? cant admit to liking the cold water diving?
Hi all, thanks for the info! Yes, it still says Sac...need to change that as soon as I figure it out! I have to say that I have NEVER cold water dived but am looking into it. I'm a BIG wimp as far as being cold goes though. Do you all do dry suit dives? I have gotten cold wearing a wet suit in Hawaii and Caribbean. Is there hope for me in Seattle's waters?!!!!
Last night the water temperature was a balmy 50 degrees on the surface, but the land temperature was somewhere in the mid 30's. So wet suits don't really fly to well, and its hard to hang out and shoot the breeze when you shivering. So most of the year around divers here have the dry suits. There are a few tough guys that stick out the wet suits but they generally only do 1 or two dives. If you want to go diving, just post, and I am sure you will get many people offering to go.

Yea I can attest to that hole wet suit thing. I dont have the funds yet to afford my very own dry suit. So I was averaging about 20 dives + per month. Ususally run 2 on Sunday and 2 more on Monday night. Now I think I did 7 for the month of December and I'm currently sitting on 2 for this month.
I tend to get cold about 26 minutes into a dive, and its usually from my feet or hands that get cold. Keep in mind I'm diving with the Harveys second skin wet suit, but my hood has no thermal protection at all (it made sence for summer)
I must say to always always bring at least a gallion of hot/warm water for post dive. I tend to bring 2 gallions to warm uP after word and have a quick shower and get my moral uP. But I had a diving instructor once tell me that:
"there are 2 kinds of divers in the Pacific Northwest. Those that are dry suit divers and those that will be"
How true that is I've learned.
