I was in fairly typical New Jersey seas yesterday. 3 - 4 foot waves with large (up to 8') swells hitting the boat sideways. Normally I would be quite seasick under these conditions. About half of the divers were seasick.

I don't like to take more meds than is necessary so I've been cutting back on Quatro's suggestion. Below is the minimum that works for me:

1 Scopolamine patch behind ear, applied no less than 8 hours before departure.
1/2 of a 12.5 mg Phenergan (Promethazine) pill taken 1-2 hours before departure. Yes, it does make me drowsy so I don't take it while driving. Take the other half of the pill at the first sign of queasiness. Happened during the SI, the other half fixed me right up.
No Sudafed to counteract the drowsiness.
