Seaquest sizing charts match me, except for weight, advice?

I'm 6,0", 220 lbs, 43" chest, 43" over the shoulder (I think) and a 43 inch waist (43" without "sucking it up", but I wear 40" waist clothing). I obiously have some baggage around the waist area. I am intersted in a size Large SeaQuest Pro XLT but my weight is the only thing that doesn't fall in line on the SeaQuest size chart. I think I need a Large, but the large only goes to a max of 210 lbs. If I go to an XL, the waist size and the weight range falls in line, but the height and over the shoulder measurement would not be in my range. Has anyone had the same experiene? I will probably never get above 220 lbs. Actually, I may lose some weight over time (I'm a tad more active these days). I like jacket style BCs and I think I would like the XLT (does anyone own one? Or a Pro QD?). I live in Texas and will dive in the Gulf (Flower Gardens Banks) so I will use a wet suit on occasion. Any help would be appreciated.

I was borderline L or M/L on the SeaQuest Pro QD. The shop only had M/L in stock. They ordered up an L size so I could try it. After trying both, I went with the M/L. Too big of a BCD will shift around and cause problems. I'm 6'0", 190, 36" waist.

Ideally you should try them both on. It seems that the BCD's are a bit bigger than the chart implies. I'll bet that the L will fit you better.

Hubby wears a Large and he's a tad bigger than you are it looks like. He's in a Pro QD at the moment, I think.

I am very similar in measurements to you, except waist is 36-38, and I wear a Large SeaQuest Black Diamond. I would definitely not want the larger size. THey build in plenty of adjustment in their BC's. I think the weight issue is the least important measurement. Go to a local shop and try on both and I'd bet you'll find the L has plenty of room for your shoulders and midsection.

6', 220, 44": chest and 36" waist here. I wear a large SeaQuest Balance. The XL was far too large for me.

If you can, try one one.

Thanks for the replies, it's good to know that there is some room in the BC for different body types. I will try on a Seaquest Pro QD tomorrow, as the dive shop I frequest does not carry the Pro XLT (they have to order it, and I would rather get a used one, maybe here on the Scuba Board Classifieds or on Ebay).
