I am considering buying a brand new SQ Pro Unlimited in the future. I have a friend who has an older one with the velcro on the weight system. The new models however have the Surelock system on them. Has anyone used them before? I would also appreciate some input you may have on that BC.

Thanks in advance,

Nice Rig. Considered that but bought the Pro QD+. Mine has velcro pockets as well. Have about 50 dives on it and have never had a problem with unintended release. The sure-locks are an improvement but those who take care of the velcro and keep it clean of debris will not have a problem. Over time it can wear out and I do mean over time, many years or many many dives. If your a rec diver then your probably never going to have a problem. If you dive all the time, cold water, heavy weights then after several hundred dives you might have to replace the velcro but that certainly is no big hassle. Love my BC. Quit using it when I started Technical diving but is a fine BC. By the way, my XXL is for sale!

Awesome BC! Great design.

The Pro Unlimited offers no benefit over the Pro QD+. It adds padding to the back, a BC knife and retractor. The same knife and retractor can be bought separately for $75, retail. It's not worth the $275+ over the Pro QD+. It's kinda like buying a titanuim reg.
