I'm finally going to buy my own equipement. I'm interested in anybody's experiences with the SeaQuest Pro QD BCD. My lds is working up a package, and this is the BCD they're leading with.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks !

Not much to compare it to but I've had mine for better than a year now and have been very happy with it. No issues other than wishing the pockets were a little easier to get into.

The weight pockets are great...very secure yet release easy. Comfortable and nice adjustability.

I've had mine for a little over a year now with no major complaints. My only real issue is that it isn't very compact for traveling. I bought a M/L and wish I would have bought a large (M/L only has 34lbs of lift vs 46lbs for L). Oh, and they're made for fat guys. I'm 6'3' and 200lbs, but have a 32" inch waist. The M/L cummerbund barely goes small enough and the large was huge on me. Now I feel like Chris Farley in Tommy Boy, a fat guy in a little coat.

My husband has the Pro QD+ and LOVES LOVES LOVES it!! :D :D :D He particularly loves the giant pockets that he carries both his junk and my junk in (I don't have pockets). It's been a great and very reliable BC for him for the past 3 years.

I really like mine also, but i'll add that if you dont get the straps adjusted quiet right, it tends to ride up around your neck and get uncomfortable - be sure to snug it up, especially the shoulder straps.

Thanks for all of the input - glad to hear no major negatives.

The QD fit's me well. I'm a little concerned about the QD's size, and ability to travel, but I've tried the harness style BCD's and didn't like 'em. I'll pack an additional bag with my dive equipment, no biggie.

Peace, out.

I have been very happy with my Pro QD; I use it for wide-angle photography when I need excellent stability in any position, which my BP/W tends not to have.

Speaking of which, I am surprised that the requisite "Well, I haven't used xxx BC, but have you considered a backplate and wings?" post hasn't arrived yet....

All the best, James

I have one and dove it a while then went to the dark side with a bp&w.

I have kept it for a spare or visiting friend.

Two things I did not like about it. One was it is not a good travel bcd. And two, it kept riding up on me. I even considered putting on a crotch strap.

While it is a good bcd, remember, lds's only sell you what they carry. Check out other options like a bp&w and maybe you will end up happier.

And it begins. Make sure to use a long hose, splits are terrible, and only use a pony if you want to die.

I use the Pro QD for training OW classes. Its excellent surface stability and massive lift capacity make it a wonderful, safe teaching BC. Underwater I find it comfortable and well balanced. A solid choice in a jacket.
