There is no optical zoom (true zoom), only a 3x digital zoom.
Thnx just saw the specs. Dealbraker for me will stick with the tg4
Do wonder why?

They couldn't make it waterproof with a moving lens. Personally, I would have preferred the zoom, but I guess they are trying to maintain their "dummy proofness".

No zoom? Bummer, I'll look elsewhere.....

RAW and faster focus ++
No 'real' zoom, digital zoom only. ---

arrgh - I think my credit card just went back in my wallet.

I'm disappointed.

Sealife, please use the housing for the waterproofing, not the camera.

I wouldn't dismiss it quite yet. The rest of the camera is a huge improvement over the DC1400. As for it's macro, take a look at the video. At the 1:27 mark, it gives some video examples of its macro capability. Going by that, it looks pretty similar to what you typically get with the DC1400. There's definitely room for improvement with better magnification (as there was with the DC1400), but that is where a wet lens could come into play in the near future. The lack of zoom is definitely a huge disappointment, but I still think the rest of the improvements will make up for it and make the 2000 a far better product.

I haven't made up my mind. I'm delighted that they've finally moved to raw, and that the DC2000 has smaller shutter lag, but not having a zoom feature is a real step backwards.

A couple of quick questions to SeaLife:

Does the DC2000 housing have a coldshoe?

Will the DC Wide Angle Lens (SL970) fit on it and if the SL970 fits on the DC2000 housing, will it work without vignetting?

For me, I often use physical zoom for framing rather than 'macro', so that's what I'm concerned about here.
