just wondering if "food grade silicone" can be used on latex seals?
is Mcnetts Seal Saver just food grade silicone?
i borrowed a spray can of food grade silicone from my buddy and did my hoses and fin straps.
then i sprayed a bunch of it in a squeeze bottle so i had some for another day.
i'm wondering if once you let the pressurized propellant dissolve / dissipate would you end up with "seal saver".
just curious..
thanks

Seal Saver was discontinued a while back.

What’s wrong with using talc?

I seem to remember learning not to use silicone on drysuit seals because it causes issue with adhesive sticking when you glue in the replacement seals.

i have to admit my bottle of seal saver is quite a few years old
one bottle lasts for a long time even with two drysuits on the go
i didn't know that it has been discontinued
nothing wrong with talc, i use talc for getting into my drysuits
i use seal saver (silicone) to help make the seals last longer (like silicone on leather)

i've heard that also, i have never had a problem with seal replacement, i try not to get seal saver on the drysuit material.....that said the stuff does wear off, if you were to replace the seals shorty after applying the silicone then yes i would think you would have an adhesive problem

does anyone use "food grade silicone" on latex or neoprene seals..???

Our local drysuit guru has told me to use nothing but pure unscented talc.
