Search resumes for missing diver in Ahipara near Kaitaia

The diver went missing around 4pm on Saturday.

Search and rescue efforts will resume on Sunday morning for a diver who went missing in Northland on Saturday afternoon.

Police will continue the search for the diver who was reported missing at around 4pm on Saturday in the Ahipara area, near Kaitaia.

The search on Saturday of the shoreline by air and from the water failed to find the diver.

Police are urging anyone with information about the missing diver to come forward and speak to them.

"Please call Police on 105, referencing event number P057176028."

A body has been found on the beach but hasn't been identified yet.
