Any chance of getting them involved in commentary upon the illegal salvage of wrecks (vast habitat destruction) in Subic Bay, as a side-story?

The National Museum and now the US Navy have been conducting underwater surveys of the damage done... it'd be nice if an environmental story could result from this. The main focus from the NM and USN is the heritage issue... which is important, but not something that 'lights a fire' within many divers...and certainly the local populations.
 
I was in Sea Spring for the past two weekends and in one of those weekend, went diving with one of the owners. Based on my interaction with him, being a diver himself, he was also a pro-environment and that they are instituting some reforms and measures to preserve the beauty of secret bay. So let's see

If he is really on pro-environment, he would had carried an environmental impact study first.
 
will inquire from the owner if an environmental impact assessment study had ever be done, if none, will suggest that the same be immediately commissioned to mitigate and prevent further damage to the site
 
how they got a permit to build on that geothermal site in the first place is a question that might need to be explored.

Easy to say... harder to do, especially when you can save a buck on construction costs...
