California's best known sea mammal is hanging out with other sea lions at San Francisco's Pier 39.

You can recognize Chippy from the other sea lions from the tracking device that the Marine Mammal Center put on him before they released him into the Pacific Ocean at Point Reyes this week.

Chippy somehow wandered into the San Joaquin Valley in early February. He had been shot in the head.

The Marine Mammal Center nursed him back to health.
