Mo2 doesn't like them because when he bit down on his to customize it, it pulled his dentures out. :D

I like mine, don't have to bite my mouthpiece to hold reg in, it just stays there ... too long, why not cut it shorter? I did ... too expensive? not compaired to 99.9% of the other equipment I have. One word of advice, do not bite down too far when molding it, you want jour jaw slightly apart, like a regular mouthpiece ... I had to get another, still worth it though
... It's just a mouthpiece, why such hate Mo2vation? It's almost as if someone said SpareAir ; )

New model is blue, doesn't look funny colored after a while like the clear ones (mine still looks ok)

Yep. If the mouthpiece is too big, cut it down. I am impressed, though: Mo2vation put all of those in alphabetical order! LOL

I haven't seen the new ones, D_B. I don't think I paid $30 for mine, either. In light of the cost of other dive equipment, $30 seems almost refreshingly cheap. LOL

I also keep my old mouthpiece in my Save-A-Dive kit, along with a couple of extras and a bunch of zipties.

Just got 2 of them for our regs. Haven't molded or attached them yet but I sense that they're going to be a huge improvement. Even without heating/moulding they seem to allign better with my teeth and as someone else already mentioned ...they will probably stay in place without much actual biting.

Results to follow ....

Why cut it down when you can get one the size you like for a lot less money?

I give a BIG testimonial to Sea Cure and their mouthpieces.

In 1993, I was working a booth at DEMA, trying to drum up customers for my fledgling business. I never really paid attention, but I was next to the Sea Cure booth. At the end of the convention, as we were all breaking down our booths, the Sea Cure folks said, ‘see you next year’. I told them that I wasn’t sure I would be back and they asked why.

I told them about a problem I was having, having a regulator in my mouth 3-5 hours a day was aggravating an already injured TMJ and it hurt so much that I was diving with my reg in my hand, only putting it against my mouth when I needed the next inhale.

It so happened that I was talking to the dentist that designed the mouthpiece, and he is a TMJ specialist. He looked at me, kind of funny and said “Haven’t you listened to anything I’ve said in the past three days????”

Of course not, I was too busy with my own concerns and sales (DEMA costs a fortune, you have to make the most of every minute!)

So he sat down with me and started to explain about the dynamics of the jaw joint, the difference between biting and clamping and the affect on the muscles and the affect all this would have on the joint over time.

He then proceeded to give me an hour long lesson on the proper way to mold the mouthpiece and demonstrated on me. Then he told me that this one was a gift and happy diving.

Well, I used that mouthpiece, all that year, and all the next. That following year, my dive op was in a place to do some small amount of retail, and the Sea Cure booth at DEMA was the first I went to. You see, he saved my diving career, the TMJ healed, as much as TMJ can, the headaches were gone, I could eat, chew, and most importantly, dive for hours every day again. My dive op has never been out of stock on Sea Cure since.

There are many advantages to the SC mouthpiece, among them, they do NOT wear out, and you can’t bite through them. My first did about 5000 dives, and I retired it along with the reg it was on, my second has done way more than 5000 dives and would probably outlast me, but I’ll probably replace it just to have something new in my mouth.

The Sea Cure mouthpiece has solved many problems for many of my friends and divers over the years. I think it is the single best piece of dive gear you can buy.

I absolutely love mine. I have had it since about dive 5 and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. I also have never had anybody have issues with it when we practice OOA situations. Absolutely one of the best purchases I have made.

They say a small mouthed person can choke or gag on it - which would be the a very bad thing in an OOG emergence. You hand off a reg and have the OOG buddy start gagging and odds are they are on the way up. Not good.

Fortunately, all the people I dive with have big mouths! :D

Actually, my DIRF instructor had me move mine to my BKUP reg.

I miss it...

But the Atomic mouthpiece is pretty good.
