thanks-- guess that was really a dumb question. Even if it would be designed for deeper dives, the risk vs reward ratio wouldn't add up right. Even if one was to take a bunch of glucose and be "high" for the length of a dive would be one heck of a lot better than a low at 50- ft.! I will look at the link tonight. And thanks again.

Where can I purchase a new scuda drinking water device unit?
I have used one for years scuba diving. It is wonderful to drink
water while diving.

Hi sjensen,

The producer of S.C.U.D.A. was bought out around '05 and the new owners dropped that particular product (You'll note this thread was started back on July 18, 2003).

Might wish to check out the following for a comparable replacement:

Platypus bottles
plusBottle®

Camelbak hydrartion systems
sports-recreation - CamelBak.com

If you feel a hypoglycemic episode coming on underwater you want sugar and you want it fast. The tubes of instant glucose contain 12.5 grams of dextrose, significantly more then you will be able to readily ingest via a liquid of of juice. I would stick with the tubes as they will provide the rapid administration of sugar that you need.
