There's nothing like getting and servicing good gear cheap -- and then spending the savings on more dive trips.

After years of renting, I recently bought gear, including a used Aqualung Calypso regulator and LPO octo. I bought the Calypso in part because it is reputed to be durable and simple to service, but of course as used gear it now needs service. I see that Scubatoys, a company I've done business with before successfully, and which I know is generally popular, offers regulator service at an unbeatable price, $50 for first stage, second stage, and octo, including parts. Scuba Regulator Repair - Scuba Annual Service I'd be grateful to hear how things worked out from anybody who's used Scubatoys for regulator service. Also, as a general matter, do folks see much advantage to using an LDS for reg service despite the higher price relative to Scubatoys?
If your Aqualung reg is in "warranty" and you want to keep it that way, Aqualung warranty requires you get it serviced at an Authorized Aqualung Dealer. Scuba Toys is not an Aqualung "authorized dealer".
Not that this has anything to do with the level of service provided though...... But just something for anyone to consider.
Umm. The reg service ad used to have "Aqualung" on there. It's curious that Scubatoys removed it recently.Hmm. I sent them my Legend for service, and now I notice AquaLung is not one of the manufacturers listed on their reg service ad. I'm not the original owner, so there is no warranty. I'm assuming they will still service it, correct?

Why not just contact Scubatoys directly about this?
(If you do, please let us know what the deal is. )

If they can get parts for it (rebuilt kits), I'm sure that they'll service it.
Some shops that are not Aqualung dealers are having a harder time getting rebuilt kits for them.
No problem we can work on them... we have two service guys and both are certified to work on them.
