I bought something similar from my local optical shop for my wife and son. They both had problems with fogging and did not like them. Ended up a waste of money. Wife no longer dives and son had LASIK.

I don't need anything for distance yet. But, I just purchased a set of the stick on optx gauge readers. I am hoping they will let me see settings on my camera better. If I need anything for distance, I think I will go for the custom mask.

I feel your pain, Jkurk, my prescription mask cost almost $300 too. That is atypical, but if you have a really strong and complicated prescription (very nearsighted, high astigmatism, and bifocals, in my case) it can easily cost that much. I just bit the bullet and did it, since I need to see. I haven't tried the product you cite, so I can't comment on that. I can second the recommendation of Prescription Dive Masks if you decide to get the prescription mask; they do a good job. Also, you can get the lenses updated without buying a new mask.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Deborah

Holy Cow! $37!!?? For a 'lil piece of plastic?
I did pick up a good piece of info from the site though, "silicone glue" which I'll try to locate at Lowe's.

Most glues will slightly distort optical plastic just enough to hoes you up. I tried silicone glue to secure the CVS old man readers . NOT. super glue same.
I loose so many of those nice stick ins that I guess I will just have to have one made so I can see the gauges and camera settings.

Thanks to all for the input - it will be the perscription mask route for sure as I would like to actually SEE things (LOL)

Dave - I know you guys from Dutch & DNY so I will reach out to you once I get the updated script from the Dr.

Thanks again.

JKurk,

Looking forward to hearing from you and taking care of you! Dave
