I thought the TIS system was environmentally sealing the piston?
The MK25s my dive buddy used were not environmentally sealed. The TIS system is about special coatings, etc. not environmental sealing.

People like DAAquamaster or other Scubapro techs would be better able to explain this that I ever could.

What I can tell you is that -- TIS finishes not withstanding -- freeflows in cold water with the MK25s is why my buddy replaced his with MK17s (which was pointed out earlier use a sealed diaphram system).

So I went down to Oceanic in Singapore and picked up set of FDX10/Delta4 with AirXS octo and a couple Islander BCDs. I had gone in there thinking I was going to buy an Excursion BCD but the Islander looked just as good quality and was much lighter, and if I'm honest I won't bed doing any cold water stuff.

Anyway the shop is in Parklane Shopping Mall in Selegie road, with a very friendly and helpful owner who even opened the shop for me on a public holiday and prevented me from buying things I didn't need when he could easily have just flogged the expensive gear in stock. Recommend the shop.

Will be testing out the gear for proper in Sipidan in a few weeks time.

Thanks for all the advice.

It actually works fine in cold water. I have one and so do several people here in Alaska .

I have herd that they tend to free flow in cold water because they are not sealed but i am in NO way an expert on regs and I dont really dive cold water so thank you for the information:D

I am happy with my Scubapro stuff soo far.
I have the MK17 with S550 and R295 as the octo.
Also just got another S550 with MK14 I believe it is for my pony.

My MK17 did free flow once in like 42 degree water. I took it to the shop and they told me it just wasnt adjusted to flow correctly in that type of water? I havent dove in anything past low 50's since then so I dunno if it will happen again.
