I'm a Fish!
I would not recommend purchasing Scubapro items in the future, even though I love my Mk25/S600 Din, I found out the used 10 times Uwatec Aladin Air Z Nitrox computer I bought from a local diver (had a dead battery) would cost $125 for the wrist/battery and $100 for the transmitter battery to be replaced, unless I was the original owner and then it would be replaced for free for life. This tells me you should never grow tired of your new gear (which becomes older and used) and hope to sell it so that you can upgrade and buy a new setup, because it's virtually going to be a money pit and worthless to the new buyer, because the Manufacturer gauges you for a battery (come on Scubapro). I can replace the battery in my Oceanic Pro Plus 2 for $15.00 and $6.00 in my Suunto Cobra computer and if I ever sell it, the new buyer can also replace them for the same prices. What message are you sending the diving community? I think the message is the same one you sent others in regards to the Aladin Air X Nitrox computers, the computer is disposable and worthless!

Any chance you can contact the seller (if the original owner) and have him/her send it back for you.

im just wondering i know this had nothing to do with your topic but i was going to get my uncles scubapro bcd. and i wanted to know if scubapro is a good brand. he's going to give it to me for free but i never heard of it and wanted to know if it was crap or the bcd is actually going to do what it needs to do. thanks

Just make sure that he changes the BCD batteries for you before he gives it to you.

Scubapro gear is very good. You could hook up the bcd to a tank, fill it with air and submerge it to see any leaks. Then pull the dump valves and make sure they work. Just make sure you have it checked to make sure everything works prior to diving. Also, as you probably have figured, SP doesn't warranty their gear, free, if you are not the original purchaser or have not maintained their every year inspection, by a qualified SP dealer.

Good luck and happy diving.

Air Z? Count your blessing that they will do anything at all. The whole "Air" line was a real sustainability failure.

Ask them if they will sell you a refurbished one (upgrade) Usually you can get a really good price.

If you search on the Uwatec air series, you will find they did not develop an easy way to replace the battery. It tends to fail.

Sorry, dude; I learned all this when I was researching my ScubaPro Uwatec Aladins.

I say ScubaPro is a good brand! I sent in my hubby's Uwatec Aladin Prime - the infrared wireless had failed. They sent me a whole new Uwatec Aladin TEC2G.
