Scubapro tank strap on Seaquest Pro QD

By SB do you mean Scubapro (most of us shorten it to SP)? If you look closer you'd see that there was velcro on one of the ends. That's the part that you adjust if you're changing to a different size tank.

With the Seaquest one, if it was like in the first picture I posted, then yes lifting a weighted BC is a pain. I can relate to that.
Usually I just dump out the integrated pockets if that's the case.

Yea sorry about that lol no idea where I got SB from :| ... Oh that's weird I didn't see velcro on the ones I used. The cam was adjustable like the AL one is.. just looped through the cam and you feed in oneside and out the other. We never adjust velcro to change the diameter of the strap. I only have AL gear, so I'm not familiar with SP's line, and like I said I only used it 3ish times, so I don't even recall what BC I was using... Could SP have different straps for different BC Models? I just remembered really liking the cam when switching tanks

Scubapro has the same strap for all models. The newer models do have a nifty plastic keeper to keep the velcro from coming off if pulled, but it's remained unchanged otherwise.

Besides Scubapro, all the other manufactures use traditional cam straps like the one on your Seaquest.
Like I said before, both straps do their job perfectly, they just have tradeoffs. If you're using a Scubapro strap with different size tanks, then you'll be adjusting it. It takes a bit more time and attention to detail to make sure you have it set right, but on the flip side it's easier to take off your tank on a pitching boat (especially a small one).

The traditional cam straps I find are easy to tighten without having to clamp, unclamp, repeat etc etc. But you do have to deal with lifting your tank or BC to change tanks.

Aqualung is now using a "Scuba Pro" style cam strap on some of their BC's called Grip Lock GripLock. It's claim to fame is a flat spot on the cam that allows you to get your fingers out of the way before it snaps closed. I have changed all my BC's and my BP/W to the SP straps. I do not find them a pain to change for different tank diameters.

I switched out my standard tank band for a SP cam band and never looked back. Glad I did it. I bought mine new from dealer for $35. I looked at other "knockoffs" and decided to go with the oem SP. I think its made and designed better than the other brands. If you get one and don't like it, I don't think you'll have a hard time selling it to someone else.

I replaced the tank strap on my Oceanic Excursion 2 with the SP strap you are looking at and it works perfectly!
