I have a buddy that is wanting to sell me a slightly used (only 3-4 times) scubapro s600 regulator. He is asking for $400 for the setup... I have been diving with an Apeks ATX 50 and I was just wondering what the comparison of the two is? I've looked at several postings & have read good things about both. I am working with students quite a bit, but I also like diving for myself. I am looking for something that will be good for both situations. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, would this be a good deal?

Does it include a first stage? Which one?

The price seams a little high. You can get a new one on the internet for $425. Very nice regulator but you won't notice much difference in performance from your Apeks.

Yes, it does come with the first stage....I'm actually not sure which one it is though. I'll try to find out today.

In my extremely unqualified opinion, if you already have a ATX50, I wouldn't spend good money on a rather pricey S600 unless you need another reg set, and if I'm not wrong his warranty doesn't carry over to you even if it's new.

Apeks ATX50 -> ScubaPro S600 is like matter -> anti-matter. If you aren't careful you could cause a rip in the whole space/time continuum thing. ;)
