Hello all. I've been viewing the board for a while now and have found it very interesting. This is my first post, and I hope I'm not asking something that's been answered in another thread (I looked but didn't find anything). Long story short: I'm interested in setting up a MK10 with R109s (converted to balanced). How do I tell the difference between r109s and r108s? DA Aquamaster . . . are you out there?! That, and any other advice the members might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As indicated above, the R080 has no adjustment knob.

Both the R109 (Adjustable) and R156 (Balanced Adjustable) have an adjustment knob.

Telling an R109 from an R156 is pretty much impossible without inspecting the poppet.

I have a few SP metals rigged with a balanced adjustable primary and an adjustable alternate. I also have one rigged with just an adjustable for solo diving in a river with fairly strong current. It seems to be a little less susceptable to current induced freeflows/bubbleing. When adjusted to the easiest breathing position, the performance differenct is barely discernable. And the service kit for the adjustable is a bit cheaper plus the seat can be flipped to double the life. Store them with something stuck in the front of each 2nd to depress the purge button taking all pressure off the seats.
