Has anyone used the Aqualung LX? I know a ton of people have used Scubapro S600s but has anyone used both? The Scubapro has the lifetime warranty and it's easy to find a tech for them but is the Aqualung good enough to offset this?

Aqualung Legend LX??? Aqualung regs also have a lifetime warranty. I think the big difference between the AQ reg, and a SP reg (most of them) is that the AQ is a diaphragm reg, and the SP (except for the MK16) is a piston reg. They are both great regs. Decide what type of diving you are going to do, and pick the reg that suits you. Piston regs are generally not the best for diving in cold water. Diaphragm are much better suited for this. If you are a traveling warm water diver, then a SP reg is a nice choice...

Ya the Legend LX. Sorry, I was really tired when I posted it as you can tell from that and the title. I have used the aqualung but not the Scubapro and it was incredeible. I will probably be doing most of my diving above 55 degrees, so relatively warm waters.

Well, if you are looking at the AQ Legend LX, and the SP S600/ MK25, and you are going to be doing warm water diving, I would say, go with whichever one you like. They are both great regs, and will give you good service for a long time.

I know, not much help. But, when you are trying to decide between two great regs, it comes down to personal preference.

The other argument in favor of SP is that they can be serviced pretty much anywhere in the world, unlike Aqualung which has a smaller sales & repair network.

I have an MK25 that I use in 50+ water without ever freeflowing so far (knock on wood.)

I have a mk25/s600 set and a legend lx set. both are great. legend is easier to clean after a beach dive.

For warm water I concur with Lubold; for cold water I recommend the Legend LX Supreme.

You should have no problems getting your aqualung regs serviced anywhere in the world. Do you have actual numbers to back up that claim Arnaud? I think I see more AL dealers than I see SP, but that may just be Florida. I wonder how we really find out.

I don't, but SP is AFAIK the world leader. Out of the 3 LDS I shop at, only one sells AL, and I have yet to see one of their models in the store. Meanwhile, they all sell SP.

... it is location, location, and location. Since the store that I deal with quit selling SP, there is one store out of four that carries it and they carry just about everyone's line. But, keep in mind that even a shop that quit selling SP could still service a SP regulator as they sold them up until recently and have be able to take care of their customer base.

I would think that Aqualung in their many brand names would be in much the same position. I don't see where you would have trouble getting either serviced. BTW, I personally use a Legend LX and find it to be a great reg. I have never used a SP, but I hear that they are great regulators as well and have been hearing that since before I signed onto this board.
