I know this is off topic but I've been wondering why they use red for octo's (I don't have one and haven't looked at any while underwater). With red being the first color lost, does red really show up underwater? I was looking for a red cover and diaphragm for the G200b's I use as octo's but couldn't find them and then gave up since I figured the red really wouldn't show up underwater anyway.. Thanks...

They did, well over here in Japan anyway. They are almost always paired with a MK15, sometimes a MK10. The blue was the primary and red the octo.,

And no, you are correct, underwater they look brown. Having said that if ones buddy needs color to locate an octo they should perhaps take up another hobby.

I don't know if this package was offered in the rest of the world but in general the Japanese are very fashion conscious and like to "look" good regardless of what they are doing, you should see some of the hideously colored wetsuits and local drysuits, enough to make a fish vomit. I imagine someone "thought" the blue and red looked cool.

For all you guys and gals that have been frantically looking for a Red purge button for me I'm happy to announce you can call off the search:

For a minute I thought my mind was playing tricks on me … I remember seeing that reg set with beautiful chrome seconds … and then I remembered where …. I love the chrome!
