I happen to have both Apex 200 and MK25/ G250V regulators...

As far as breathing goes... if both are adjusted to the edge, I cannot tell the difference...both are remarkably good.

However, not a giant fan of pistons in dirty conditions or cold water.

I also have a little issue with the MK25 regarding how to install it... hoses up or hoses down...On my lightweight BP/W, hoses up is the only one that works, but that puts the valve far harder to reach... on my SS BP/W, hoses down works, but that means reversing the hoses if I change rigs...

For that reason, I like the Apex a bit more.

On the other hand, on a road trip around the world, Scubapro sure is nice to have...
 
If I were getting regs today, those brands would be my two choices. How cold is the water your way? Maybe consider the MK17/G250V instead?
