Hello scuba family! So i previously posted that I was going to order my scubapro mk25 evo/ g260. I got it, and I started setting it up and I wanna know how you have yours set up. I noticed that the swivel turret has a big gap and a smaller gap between the two sets of LP ports.

Where do you position the big gap on your setup for singles? Is it pointed to the back of your head? Or is it pointed back at the tank valve?

Also, I know it doesn't matter to have your first stage pointed up or down, so which way is your mk25 evo pointed?

I have a drysuit and I'm contemplating locating the LP drysuit hose on the bottom LP port. My hose is 33" long and it appears to be a little too short. Has anyone else done this? What length drysuit hose are you using for the bottom port?36"?

Back of head.

It does matter to me for certain. It always points down. My longer primary second stage LP hose is connected to the bottom port. I also don't want the swivel to keep banging my head when the swivel is pointing up. I want to reduce the first stage's profile and lower the chance it's banging on things or getting caught on lines.

The up vs down thing is often discussed and fussed over. There is no right or wrong. Scubapro copy as often shows the turret up as down. In these times and especially since the inclusion of the fifth port atop the turret most people route the turret down or down and angled to the right side for single tank. This is made more appropriate due to modern bent doubles plates forcing the single cylinder very high on the divers back. And compromising head clearance, ouch!!!!!

I do not use the top port for single tank diving. I wear my tank much lower than most divers today and I do not use the common bent doubles plate with STA which allows me to more nearly center the mass of the cylinder over my chest and keep the valve and first stage well away from my head. Therefore I put my turret up so the swivel turret can actually swivel for best alignment.

As Boltsnap :) said, the big gap is normally positioned towards the back of the head.

You should not allow non-optimal hose lengths to dictate your regulator positioning and hose routing. Hoses are cheap, get the correct length to optimize the turret down or down and right. Put your primary on the fifth or top (now bottom) port. Well, unless you want to join me and run the turret up!!!!!! Like it should be :poke:.

A good resource:

Seems a bit counter intuitive to want the hoses to go up with the reg pointing down
Is there a sort of invalid aid, to haul me up horizontal in front of the mirror, to check

Might have to get one, ahead of time, cheep!

If the regulator is centered behind your neck then they mostly do route downward. If the regulator first stage is centered closer to the midline between your shoulders and turret down then some of the hoses may have to make an upward traverse with some rather tight bends. But it works fine. For those who insist on DIW (Doing It Wrong) :outtahere:. I am just teasing, chill guys, it will all be okay in the end and if it is not then it is not the end yet.

The gent always has good content but dragging those regulators around on the concrete like that is pegging my OCD meter big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not drag your regulators on the ground even for a video because it is not pro and it is abusive. And that is how things get broken, FOD gets in them, tanks get dropped on them, people step on them, not even for a video should you drag your regulators on concrete, it is just bad form.
