I have an MK-17 in DIN configuration, but also have the yoke. This is not the conversion kit, but the actual yoke with filtered nut/insert (the part that actually screws into the first stage) I can't figure out how to remove the DIN from the First Stage to allow me to assemble the Yoke to it.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

This manual might be helpful.
Usually all that's needed is the right-sized allen key (4mm?) to unscrew the filter retainer.
I think the manual specifies a 6mm socket extension to remove the DIN knob retainer. That should take care of disassembly.
Follow the rest of the instructions to assemble in the yoke configuration.
Be careful not to over-torque the yoke retaining screw. To this properly, you'll need to use a torque wrench with a socket extension. Make sure that your torque wrench is properly calibrated.

Here is a video of the MK17 and MK25. Watch the second half to see the MK17 information.

As to how to remove the DIN kit, you need to use an allen wrench to remove it.
First you need to use an allen wrench to remove the filter, then a larger allen wrench to remove the body of the DIN. Then you can install the YOKE.

Hi Bubbletrouble,

thank you so much for your help, unfortunately I can't open the manual, when clicking on the link. Allen Wrench and torgue wrench are no problem, but would love to see the manual.

Thanks again
Martin

what a great video thank you so much. It is a great link. Bubbletrubble, if there is any way you could send the link for the video it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have the adapter, and around here and around the carribean I can't find DIN. I used DIN in Germany and Switzerland, but not around here.

As said, a 4mm allen wrench removes the filter retainer, then the filter and spring pop out and you'll see a 6 mm allen fitting; use an allen wrench or socket to remove that. You'll probably need to put the reg in a vice, but maybe not. It should be torqued to about 23ft/lbs. When you put the yoke fitting in, don't forget the o-ring in the retainer, and you'll need a modified or special 1" socket to tighten the yoke retainer, use a torque wrench to about 23ft/lbs. Its not difficult. If you're really stuck with no modified socket, you can use a big adjustable wrench or even the jaws of the vice to tighten the yoke retainer. The problem with this is that you will not be able to torque it accurately. With the big wrench, you can try your best to estimate. It's not a super critical torque spec, but its far better to have the torque wrench. You really don't want it coming loose, and I've seen a few yoke retainers really mangled from over-torgueing.
