Hello Everyone ,
I have just bought my first new regulator set which is composed of a Scuba Pro MK11 !st stage with R395 primary second and R295 Octopus .

I have few questions :
1- The MK11 has 2 high flow ports (low pressure ports), could I connect one of them to the BCD inflator hose ? The HFP Delivers 15% more than regular LP's , does this mean it consumes more air. especially with the BCD inflator ?

2- I connected the R395 to the upper right HFP and the Octopus R295 to the lower LP on the same side (not a HFP). And the BCD inflator hose to the upper left HFP. IS this a correct configuration ?

3- If anyone has ever used the above set , could you provide me with your comments ?

Best Regards

You can use either one of the LP ports on that side of the Mk11 for the LPI hose. Use which ever port give you the cleanest hose routing.

It shouldn't matter which LP port you connect to your BCD inflater hose. Know that your BCD power inflater will only add air to the bladder when the inflater button is depressed -- so "consuming more air" really isn't an issue. I suppose that if you connected the inflater hose to a the HFP LP port, theoretically you might be able to inflate faster...slightly.

If I had your rig, I would just use whichever LP port gave me better hose routing for the BCD inflater hose. *shrug*

FWIW, even the "regular" flow (non-HFP) LP ports should give adequate airflow for a diver breathing off of a second stage regulator.

Something else to ponder is whether the MK11 HFP LP port is more advertising hype than substance. I don't doubt that the tech specs are accurate...but in the real world does the HFP design provide substantive performance benefits? Nope.

[Edited later: I see that awap beat me to it. That's what I get for walking away from the computer for a few minutes.]

Nomro, as the others have said it doesn't matter which ports you use for the inflator hose.
The high flow ports should be used with your 2nd stage to get any potential benefit from the boosted port.......don't worry, how much gas you consume has no correlation to which hose is connected to which port.

Hello awap , Bubbletubble,Fishpie,

Thanks for the tips , I prefer using the second satges at the same side , so I have to use an HFP LP port for the primary 2nd , LP (non HFP) on the same side for the octopus . On the other side I will use the HFP LP for the BCD inflater hose, and HP on the same side for the guages.

Thanks a lot for the info :)
