I have a D400 in great shape; however, there is a tiny space between the rubber diaphragm cover and the plastic of the main housing, mainly at the top, just below the "Dive" adjustment switch.

Does this space/gap affect the regs functioning? Can it be fixed so that the space is eliminated?

The space has caught my attention because I have another D400 where there is no such space/gap--the diaphragm cover sits tightly up against the plastic housing.

Thank you!

No, in fact you could dive the reg (carefully in no current, I suppose) without the big rubber cover on. It doesn't seal anything, it just protects the delicate diaphragm and exhaust valve assembly. It just pulls off, BTW. It's a bit of a stretch.

I've rebuilt two of them. Sweeeeet breathers, but really, really odd-looking!
