In a similar vein as the For Sale - SB celebrity sale post by @lexvil, I am offering up a D300 second stage regulator completely refurbished and converted to a D400 by @rsingler. All proceeds from this sale go directly to Simon, @buddhasummer. His paypal address is harveysml@gmail.com. The buyer will pay Simon directly. @rsingler has the regulator in his possession and will ship to the buyer at no additional cost.

A few months ago I picked up an MK10 and a D300 as a package deal. My interest was only with the MK10. I put the D300 on a shelf thinking some day I might dive it. After some time I came to the realization that I will never dive the D300 as I am pretty much set on the G250V, of which I got a few from Simon.

Seeing the SB Celebrity Sale by @lexvil got me thinking. Why not sell the D300 and give the proceeds to Simon as a thank you for his contributions to this site. I know absolutely nothing about the “D” series regulators, so I contacted Rob and told him of my plans. Rob agreed to take a look at the regulator for me. Not only did Rob completely rebuild the reg, he also converted it to a D400 at his own expense!

I’ve decided on the following auction-style format (I hope it’s allowed per SB rules). I’ll set the starting price out at $25. Folks can post “bids” to increase the price (includes shipping to continental US and other goodies from Rob, see below). The auction will not have an ending date. Once bids stop coming in for a few days I will end the auction and notify the high bidder who will pay Simon via Paypal harveysml@gmail.com.

Rob sent me the below comments about the reg, and he will make a post after mine confirming everything:

Keith, your "new" D-400 is ready. You're welcome to use my name re: the refurbishing. The first picture shows all the parts that were replaced. All the parts on the left were discarded in favor of the ones on the right.

The entire case was replaced with a newer model with the extra cap thread. A new longer thread cap was added. The recalled short diaphragm cover was replaced with a taller new one. A new D400 knife edge housing was added. New orings, of course. A new diaphragm assembly was added. And of course, the Pre-dive switch was switched for a new D400 switch and oring. About the only original parts are the inlet tube, rubber scrotum and chrome cap, lol! It'll come with the buyers choice of mouthpiece, as pictured.

I've tuned it to 1.0" at 135 psi, but it will go as low as 0.7" without leaking. I'll include a new service kit with orings and three poppets. I'll guarantee performance to whomever buys it. I'll mail it no charge to whomever buys it. <End of Rob’s comments>

As Keith said, this is now a classic D-400. I'll tune it to whatever cracking effort the buyer wants, and will guarantee performance basically until I stop doing regs. Shipping free to you. Service free to you except postage.
I'll include extra poppets and o-rings if you plan to service it yourself.
She's the best of what the D's do: unchanging effort in ANY position. Perfect for photographers. And of course the great air delivery of the center-balanced design.
For a good cause, no less!
