I know my mom is and if the night dives aren't going on at the same time I will join her.

Hooked the wife and I up with DAN Insurance today. April can't get here soon enough. My birthday will fall (April 28, 2014) during this trip - can't image a better time than making bubbles and getting another year older.

What a SWEET way to spend your birthday!!

I have my DAN insurance , but I don't have a dive buddy or my own equipment yet (bc, reg, dive computer). Is it ok to assume that I will find a buddy or buddies once I am there, or should I do something now? Regarding equipment, does anyone know what the rental equipment condition is at AKR or weekly cost? I'd really like to have a bit more experience before I purchase my own kit, but I would make the investment before Roatan if it makes sense.

Finbird, if you have the financial means to purchase a few essentials before the trip, I would recommend visiting your local dive shop and picking out some regs, mask, wetsuit, and a computer. If you have a few more dollars, get fins and a BCD too. Rentals add up and personally I really prefer the comfort of diving my own gear - for the familiarity of it and knowing its in perfect working condition.

Roxy, come on now.. Why would we snorkel if we can dive?! Lol. Night diving IS THE BEST!!,

I am only bringing my snorkel because my ex is bringing my daughter on a cruise to meet up with Clay and I for a day at the beach in Roatan on Apr 22nd (yes we are there one week prior too), so I get one glorious day with my four year old on a tropical beach, one week solo with my hunney, and one week with all my best scuba friends in paradise!!

Not to mention I have been diving regularity at home here over the past year in 42F water so Roatan is gonna be a piece of cake and slice of heaven - I can't wait!!

Also have got really familiar with my camera setup so I can't wait to try some fleuro pics on night dives now!

Let the FUN BEGIN!!!
