Just found this thread. Reading everything I can about Coz., and have a lot of questions. Trip insurance, luggage restrictions, must brings, should leave behinds...getting from the airport to the hotel...

This will be my first dive trip out of the country. (except the Bahamas 17 years ago). Hermit Crab and my sister will be going also as non divers, but will bring HC's gear just in case she changes her mind.

I wrote a little article for first timer visitors when the trip was announce but was told to let the travel agency handle it.
Packages like this are what trip insurance was made for primarily, as it's be there or lose - right? I use TravelSafe.com for comprehensive coverage at good rates, but the travel agent has a plan, or see InsureMyTrip.com | Quote | Help for comparisons of all of them.

Take pens to fill out Immigration and Custom forms on the plane. Once you clear I&C, be careful to not lose the stub given you, then barge thru the horde of lying time share agents as they do not sell tickets. Turn right, and the ticket office is on the left. Buy a van ticket for $7 or so, then go outside and ask for the Hotel Coz van. Make sure your bags are not offloaded at the wrong place as you may stop at other properties. The van will not leave until totally full, but it's a short ride.

Luggage restrictions are up to your airline and TSA and it's good to check both sites. Carry as much as you can in your roll-on and breakables & valuables in a backpack. Cameras, etc, are not covered by airline liabilities in luggage or roll-ons.

Must brings, should leave behinds: No knives in the dive park. BYO headset for using Skype to call home. Otherwise - see what the women suggest...??

I looked at Insuremytrip.com.. and dang there are a lot of choices. I think there were about 20! How do I narrow the field? I have DAN, so I would think the main thing is cancellation, yes? What other things should I be concerned about?

I think more like a hundred. Some are crap but listed for comparison. You can decide which benefits appeal to you and run comparison. I just use TravelSafe.com - good coverages for cancellation, non-accident medical out of country, escape, property loss, etc.

Hey there...I still sign up for the diving, can't I?
I have a home there so I don't need a hotel but would LOVE to join in the diving F-U-N! And of course, try and get plenty of dive photos of you guys!
