Just for clarification, we do allow a large variety of items to be bought at the show. There are a few items that cannot be bought and carried from the show floor and this is done to protect the safety of each individual diver. Most of the manufacturers and retailers agree that items such as BC's and regulators should only be distributed though a learning facility where a variety of self-regulated safety checks can occur (Verification of a c-card, etc.). We want to promote safety in our sport and would hate to hear of a non-qualified diver walking out of our show with an item they are not properly trained to use.
This is done not only at our show, but at all the other consumer shows across the country.
We hope to see you at our show, we have a wide variety of exhibitors, seminars and films for any diver to enjoy.
Scuba Show 2009 - May 30th & 31st @ The Long Beach Convention Center
While I like going to the show, I find it difficult to understand why a seller's ability to check a divers C-card is some how compromised being at a trade show.
Besides, if a non-certified diver want's gear, all they have to do is shop online.
