If there are any reps on this board please PM me and tell me who your are with. I am trying to start a dive shop . It seems like the reps want us to go to them , then hassle us over getting a dealer app and make a big deal of it.

As a purchasing manager in my day job I am used to reps begging me to buy and sell their products not the other way around.

Is it any wonder the industry is in the shape it is in ?

Ron

I also am looking into the same idea with no luck in anyone responding to letters and e-mails....If there are any reps on board please PM me (you will not be divulged) ASAP.

Thanks Tim (Butch)

About the Apeks and Halcyon, I am completely unbiased, but I know that both companies produce top of the line gear. I don't use halcyon, but I love my apeks regs with a passion. I really wouldn't trade them for anything (except the apeks atx200). So it is fitting that they would get plugged by all the users. Even if some reps are plugging, at least they are not misleading people.

What do you think of the Genesis GS2000 1st stage ??? Has anyone in here seen the comparison reports to the other regs???? Be honest please.

WE are drifting off topic.

Ironically it is Dive Rite that I am concerned with as one of the suppliers. The Canadian rep wants $25 for a "dealer Package" .Wanted my visa number faxed to him.

This HIGHLY unpersonable rep lost my fax with the info on it. He sent me a letter not an email or a phone call asking me to re-fax the info because I forgot to include my phone number and he did not keep past correspondance.

Note - I have exchanged emails ,talked on the phone (he did call me)and via fax to him. He also operates from a box number.

I sent Lamar an email stating how unsatisfied I was with him and all Lamar could say was that this guy was a pioneer of tech diving in Canada and was upset with the Canadian dive industry and had a bad track record with new start ups.

Hell , is all I was asking for was a packge to see if carrying their product was viable. I had supplied all tax and government info to prove I was legit. I might not want to even bother with them and probably won't now.

I would not go to this trouble to try to set up accounts and have all the legal stuff if all I wanted was a BCd or two at cost.

Halcyon did send me info as well as the Canadian Trident/Akona dealer.I am still waiting for a responce from the Canadian Zeagle and Oceanic dealer. Promate responded the fastest.

For all it's worth I am going to be sending a letter to DEMA.
