I feel I have a strong knowledge of the mechanical function and design of my regs as well as what each parts function is. I definately appreciate the value of the model specific tools available and think any "professional" should use them as well. From working through the tech education course book I have, I've got a pretty solid feel for my equipment and still have a lot more information that I haven't had a chance to read through. I know how to test all my regs, how to take them apart, install service kits, clean, and reassemble them. I am collecting tools as I go as well as experience. I'm probably have a much greater mechanical/spatial ability than most techs out there.
