A friend of mine says he was certified years ago by "Scuba Pro." I've heard of PADI, NAUI, and several others, but not Scuba Pro. I'm relatively new to diving so I was hoping one of you veterans could clear this mystery up for me.

Cheers, BillFish

Prior to the start of SCUBA certification agencies (LA County was 1st regional in about 1954, YMCA was the 1st nation wide in 1959) various equipment manufacturers taught divers as a method of expanding their customer base, similar to the reason dive shops teach diving today. Have you seen his certification? What is the date?

Interesting! Never ran across anyone certified by Scuba Pro. I'm looking forward to any information board members might have on this subject. :tree: Bob
