Third time is a charm. Now for the wire spring.

10 minutes - that was not so hard. Held the lever tight with zip ties to keep the o-ring contained, loosened the retainer, and slipped the wire spring in place. Retest of vacuum is go to go.

Instead of starting a new thread....

I just purchased a D350. I owned one before and sold it. Dont know why I sold it but I did. Dont know why I brought this one either but I did. Im sure some of you can relate.

Anyway got it home and removed the purge. Something didnt look right so I dug out the schematics and sure enough the lever is missing.

So has anyone got a spare lever or know where I can get one? Local importer is very slow and very expensive.
Im also after a seat too.

I seem to recall talk of 2 different D350's. This one has a plastic poppet with no nut but looks like the metal poppet I have with a nut will fit but its used and also needs a new seat). EDIT the seat seems to be flippable! Good stuff!

That seat is not flippable, sorry to tell you. It's got a backing on one side. SP did at one time sell the seats separately and I have been able to find them. I have four D300s so it's a lot cheaper to be able to rebuild the poppet than just replace it with a new kit.

If I'm not mistaken, the D350 used two different levers depending on when it was made, or maybe the D350 could be retrofitted with a D400 lever? The point is, you might have to hunt around to make sure you get a lever that fits your reg.

The later D350's could be upgraded with the D400 lever. The early D350s used the D300 case while the later D350s used what would become the D400 case, so not all the parts interchange between early and late D350s.

The difference in levers is that they became longer and thicker as you went from the D300 to the D350 to the D400, and they switched the direction that they faced on the D400, although frankly I forget which way is which on which regs. Personally I always note which way the lever faces when I take a D350 or D400 apart and lay it that way on the bench. It is very common to have a D350 with a D400 label or to have a D350 that has been upgraded to a D400 that still has a D350 label, so the labels mean very little.

The later D400s also had a lever with 2 flats rather than one. Supposedly this increased the working range of the valve and imprved the flow rate (which did not need improved). In my experience, this just increased the inhalation effort needed to sustain a high flow rate.

A lever from a D300 or D350 will do the job but may be hard to find. I'm sure there must be older shops out there that have done upgrades to D400 and saved to old parts. But finding one that will sell you a $20 part (very steep price) rather than a $200 regulator may be difficult. The D400 lever would also require a switch to the D400 housing.

If all else fails, that reg is probably worth as much as spare parts as it is complete.

Thanks for the replys guys.
Can you tell which D350 it is from the pics?

The poppet on the right is the one that came with the reg. The seat on this one can not be removed with out damaging the poppet.
The metal poppet was with another D350 I owned and serviced. By undoing the top nut the seat carrier can be removed and so can the seat. It can indeed be flipped over. Any reason I shouldnt?
