Scuba Drinking System

If your trying to keep the drink warm, and your diving cold water.. it's not going to stay warm too long no matter how you insulate it.. because it isn't constantly giving off hear like our bodies.. unless you look at the dry suit warmers that are battery operated and can fabriacte a way of making it water proof in a neoprene sac with silicon bladder to hold your liquid of choice........ I know diving here in New Brunswick it gets pretty cold.. and I hot liquid won't stay hot long at all at in the water.

sorry to but in, but using a camel pack thingy, how do you stop your drink getting out, or getting a mouthful of the sea when you want a drink, i have been thinking of how to drink under water, when i was diving in the maldives last week, hour long dives i was getting very dry, and sometimes having a bad taste in my mouth distracted my diving a little
although a mouthful of tooth paste just before the dive kind of sorted the bad taste

Because I like HOT coca?

Get an old neoprene wetsuit and cut pieces from it and glue them to the drinking bag with flexible contact adhesive. Reinforce the corners with extra strips folded over. You should be able to cut down the heat loss substantially. Not as good as a thermos but certainly sufficient for a 60min dive.

Provided the main sac is flexible there is little pressure difference.
Although looking at the picture I think I would add some simple valve arrangement to stop any unwanted flow, in or out.
This could be a simple squeeze piece like they use to regulate hospital drips, just a simple v-piece which squeezes the tube and closes and opens it.
Or there are some nice miniature valves for regulating aquarium air bubblers. Just cut the base away with a knife.
Either solution would just cost a few cents.

The camelback has mouth piece you bite to get the liquid movin into your mouth.. YOu can get the piece with a shut off on it so that when you bit it no liquid leaks through.

YOu could just get the bladder and hose set-up and make a neoprene case for it for diving.. problem wouldn't the pouch be bouyant?? Could hook it onto your weight belt..

hmmm.. no you guys got me thinking.. I have an older camel back.. and I think I have some neoprene some where.. may have to try it.. ....

another idea.. could use the camelbak back pack and put neoprene inside to line it???? put it on your back then your BC......?????

me and my buddy use a platapus pack, very similar to the camel back. we put it in a outdoor research backpack acessory pocket and use the rubber quick disconnect knife straps to strap it to a 30cf pony slung under our arms. we modified the plat pack with a camelback bite valve that has the shutoff switch and it works flawlessly. the pocket can also be used for storage of non necessary itmes like defog, wetnotes, even a bite to eat if its a very long swim back to shore,etc.

The camel back system has a self sealing mouth piece, have it for my long hikes in the country. It would fit conveniently between my BC and self, will try it this weekend.....
