I have just joined your group. My first question is any of you guys using the Nikon 5700 or 8700 coolpix to take digital photos with underwater? If you are what underwater case are you using soft plastic or hard plastic "brand". What do you guys recommend?

Welcome to the board!

Can't help you with those particular camers. I use a Nikon Coolpix995 in an Aquatica housing with Ikelite strobes.

Welcome to the board!

I cant help you with your particular cameras either, although in general I feel that hard cases are a better than soft bags. That all depends on how you intend to use it and what your criteria is.

I think that you will really enjoy ScubaBoard, and hopefully you will be able to post about some of your own experiences as well! If I can help ya with anything, drop me a PM and I'll domy best to try to help ya! Otherwise, I'll see you around the boards!

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

I'm with baitedstorm on the recommendation to look at our Underwater Photography forum.

Since you're a California diver you may also want to check out the NorCal section of our California Kelp Divers forum to see what's going on in your local area.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Howdy!

I just want to join the others in welcoming you to SB. Hope to get to know you around the forums.

Ho, ho - I have a digital camera of some sort, but I'm just a hacker. You need to spend time in our photo forums.

Keeping your Propfile complete and up to date will aid in future discussions. PM me if I can help you learn your way around.
