Hi Folks,

Do you think it is possible for dogs to go for scuba diving? Please vote.

If you think it is possible, please give suggestions on how to do it.

If you think it is impossible, please give reasons.

Jason

First invent a full face mask for dogs. Then a proper size BC and baby tank for dogs. Maybe 2 pairs of Force Fins. I am not sure whether dogs need to carry weight. Need to do a neutral buoyancy check first! Do you think dogs need to put on wet suit as well?

Well it is possible... We can send monkeys into space, surely we can do something like make a dog breathe underwater and swim. Don't think he'd like it though. Might classify as "cruelty to animals", unless you get a signed permit from the dog :D

Its already been done, many times. Benji even did it.

Heres a scuba diving cat, there's a dog near the end of the clip too:

Scuba Kitty

It is probably possible. Now that you have brought up this subject you have opened up yet another way for certification agencies to make a buck. "mouth to snout Recussitation" @ ow required(no shaking after) $125.

WOW,,,,great it is possible.:D

My dog, a Labrador Retriever that loves the water (what Lab doesn't) would jump right in with me if she could! But I have also seen videos showing dogs SCUBA Diving.

Don't laugh, I have had to do Mouth- to- Snout rescussitaion many times, working as a veterinary technician. How ever if that's not your style, You can always use a plastic soda bottle cut half way down for a mask. Use a 1 liter for a large dog & a 20 oz for a smaller dog. Usually we did mouth- to- snout until we could get an endotrachial tube inserted, to keep the animal alive. I have done mouth- to- snout on dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, foals, calves & piglets.

"Snout rescussitaion" Are you veterinary
